Hi! Thanks for checking out our Market! We feel blessed to start a business where we are able to be inspired by something old and create something new and beautiful.
This little journey started when I was laid off from my corporate job. I was beat down emotionally and craving a bigger purpose. I wanted to use my creative side and I needed to thrive...instead of just survive. I sent my sister Mallory a text and said "let's open a business" to which she replied "sure". She wasn't quite sure if I was serious or crazy...it was probably a bit of both! Well we jumped in with both feet and started refinishing furniture, creating custom signs from old fences and barn wood and painting Mason Jars.
We needed a name for our little business and a logo. Our Great Grandmother's name on our mother's side is Tillie, her daughter (our maternal grandmother) is Hattie Jean. Mallory and I have always loved the name Tillie and we thought it was a great combination and tribute. I sketched up a quick design for a logo which Mallory quickly made perfect!
I feel blessed to be in business with my best friend and sister. She is my confidant and is a creative genius.
